My Commitment to My Clients
If you find yourself in need of a lawyer, there’s a good chance something’s gone wrong. Hiring the right lawyer for your case may be one of the most important decisions you ever have to make.
Rest assured, my staff and I make certain our clients always receive our personalized attention. I understand that any serious encounter with the Court system is an ordeal filled with stress and uncertainty.
But I have built my reputation over 35 years by consistently giving clients honest, practical legal advice and zealous, professional representation. My commitment to my clients is to use all my training and experience to provide the highest level of legal service to achieve the best outcome possible.
My Education and Training
I graduated with honors from Duke University in 1980. I went on to obtain my law degree from the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville in 1983. After graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, I began my career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit in Brevard County, Florida.
I’m currently admitted to practice before all courts throughout the State of Florida, plus the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Federal Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit of the United States and the United States Supreme Court.
My Professional Background
As a prosecutor I handled DUIs and other misdemeanors, as well as sexual offenses, drug trafficking and related offenses, burglaries, robberies, and other felonies, including homicides. I learned the inner workings of our criminal justice system. In 1986 I joined a well-established law firm in private practice and took on criminal cases, domestic cases, general civil litigation and personal injury cases.
My time as a prosecutor taught me how to try cases in the courtroom. It taught me the importance of thorough preparation, and that, as a lawyer, you never stop being a student of the law. In the years since, I have honed my skills in other areas of the law, including family law, and civil litigation.
